Last year, Nature Reviews Urology published a viewpoint article on the experiences of 10 black urologists as a first
step toward improving diversity in our field. In this viewpoint, 6 black medical students
interested in pursuing a career in urology describe their motivations, challenges,
and the role Urologist mentors have played for them as they navigate their interest
in urology as medical students.
