On the surface, the authors present an innovative single site transvesical route for radical prostatectomy. The surgical approach incorporates the benefits of Retzius-sparing as well as staying extraperitoneal to further achieve ideal patient outcomes. This hypothesis is borne out in the promising early results. Challenges remain applying this technique to larger glands, performing extended node dissections where extensive reconstruction may be warranted. Time and global experience will eventually reveal the merits of this approach. The real intriguing aspect of this report is the novel single port (SP) platform from Intuitive that makes this possible.
